My name is Oakley! I am a stunning three year old GSD male that weighs 80lbs. I love people and wonderful around children! My foster mom says if I could talk , boy would have an amazing story to tell. My foster mom & dad call me the Survivor! I have survived many odds against me. Not only did I survive getting out of a kill shelter , I went through Heart worm treatment and survived an accident. My terrible accident left me with a one inch stair step fractured back. Vet told me I should have not survived such an event but I did! When I first came to my foster home, I hopped around and had trouble with steps but after months of healing I walk, run and have no issues with steps! The accident however left me incontinent. Which means I can not hold my bowels or urine. My foster mom keeps me clean and dry which is important and my new family will need to do the same. I currently walk around free range. Wearing diapers could cause issues like infections so my foster family found it best for me to be free range. I sleep in a stable like environment in shavings with my own AC. I don't mind this as long as I can play with my fellow dogs during the day. Currently I only wear diapers if I travel in the car to the vet. I might add I am a very good travel buddy! I enjoy the sun and rolling around in the backyard searching for passing squirrels, birds and playing fetch. I am so excited in the mornings I do nonstop circles until I get out the door. I am mostly caught sleeping on my back with my feet in the air. What can I say I am a happy boy! I am a very sweet and not a very good guard dog . I just love everyone! I only bark at cats and I do get a little excited when they are around. I get along with other dogs but will bark before intro. I do that because I'm excited to meet them! I can not wait to meet my very special forever family that will be there for me during the day and help me with the special needs I have. My ideal home would be a farm environment or someone that could give me the space I need to walk around and be around other animals free range and be me. I have a long life to live and so much love to give.
